District Advancement Committee

The district advancement committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at    7:00pm.  Our charge is to review the advancement progress of Packs, Troops, Crews and review Eagle Scout project applications.

Fast Track Advancement Based Program

National has initiated a new advancement based program called “Fast Track”. This program allows a boy to complete all rank requirements (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I & II) We strongly encourage to consider using the “Fast Track” program to enhance your den / pack program.

 

The Fast Tracks program is now ready for you to access, download, copy and share!  Please go to the national website www.scouting.org click on Cub Scouts, then Fast Tracks on the left-hand menu, then on "Launch Fast Tracks." You'll be asked to give your Pack #, City and zip code -- and then you're in!

Requirement Changes

The Boy Scouts of America is constantly striving to keep our program current      with the needs and interests of young men while maintaining our core values.  With this in mind occasionally rank and merit badge requirements are up-dated.

 

Troop leaders should regularly check for advancement program changes.  Current up-dates can be seen by going to:  www.scouting.org

 

Merit Badge Counselors

A complete list of merit badge counselors for the district or your is available upon request at the Anderson Service Center or by contacting Steve Tuttle, 765-378-5820 or smtuttle47@comcast.net          

 

To qualify as a merit badge counselor, you must be at 18 years old, be proficient in the merit badge subject by vocation or avocation, be able to work with Scout-age boys,    and complete a BSA Adult Registration Application, Position code #42 along with a Merit Badge Counselor Information form (available at the Anderson Service Center.  No fee is required.

Internet Advancement

 

As a unit, you are strongly encouraged to use council’s Internet Advancement       program.  To access this program go to the council’s web site, www.crossroadsbsa.org and just click on “Internet Advancement”.  You will need your unit’s access code.  Your Unit Commissioner, or Steve Tuttle, 765-378-5820 or smtuttle47@comcast.net  can furnish you with your unit’s access code. You will then be prompted to enter a password of your choosing.

Not only will you be able to enter your unit’s advance, but you will be able to access the current advancement progress of your scouts as recorded in ScoutNet. After entering your unit’s advancement, the program will print a Unit Advancement Report for signatures and submission to the Scout Service Center. This program is compatible with both Troop Master and Pack Master.

                                 

Remember that award purchases for your unit can no longer be purchased at the   Scout Service Center unless accompanied with a signed advancement report.
