The Sakima District respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our Web site only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at Sakima District’s Web site (www.sakimabsa.org). Part I. Information Collection
Sakima District does not actively market to children, and we never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information. We collect the following general data that is not personally identifiable information:
We collect demographic data in order to provide our users with information that is personalized to their needs. Sakima District does not verify this information, other than the e-mail address. Verification of this data is the sole responsibility of the site visitors. We collect this information through registration forms, clickstream tracking, and automatic logging files. Registration forms collect personally identifiable information. These forms are voluntary. Clickstream tracking and automatic logging files collect nonpersonally identifiable information including page hits, visits to a page by a specific IP address, and so on. This information is collected involuntarily by the Sakima District Server. Providing personally identifiable information is not necessary to visit and receive information on this website. To receive our e-newsletter,the user must provide us with their first and last name, e-mail address, unit position, and community affiliation. Other information we request is optional. We do employ cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our Web server places on a user’s computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable Sakima District to track usage patterns and deliver customized content to users. Our cookies do have an expiration date. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information. Banner advertising appearing on our Web site may collect the information about how many unique clicks the banner has received. No third parties are allowed to collect information on the site’s users. Part II. Information Usage. Registered users will receive additional announcements from us about products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Users who do not wish to receive these e-mails have the opportunity to opt out of our mailing list here. We may share data with the following affiliated parties: Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America; National Council, Boy Scouts of America. These affiliated parties may use the information provided to update their records. However, the Sakima District makes no guarantees that this will occur. It is the user’s responsibility to update their own personal information with these parties. Users may not opt out to have their information shared with third parties. Our Web site offers, or may offer, chats, forums or message boards. Please be advised that information posted in these venues becomes public knowledge.
